Peg McMaster

Peg received a BA from the College of William and Mary in 1969, a Masters in 1971, and a Doctoral degree in 2005. She began her career at York County Public Schools in Yorktown, VA, in 1969 teaching 4th, 5th, and 6th grades for 16 years. In 1992 she assumed the role of elementary principal which she continued until her return to graduate school in 2001. She worked as a consultant for Ruby Payne, leading workshops on understanding students and families of poverty. Peg also worked with an international educational organization, ASCD, serving on the VA ASCD board and assisting in restarting the WV ASCD affiliate.
Currently, Peg lives in Capon Bridge, WV, with her husband, Len McMaster. She enjoys being near their children and grandchildren. She serves as President of the Capon Bridge Ruritan Club and Director of the Founders Day Festival. She served on the Founders Day Festival planning committee for two years prior to serving as Director.
Len McMaster

Len McMaster- Len received a BS in physics from the College of William and Mary in 1967 and a JD from the Marshall Wythe School of Law in 1976. Len started his career at the NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC), Hampton, VA in June 1967 as an engineer working on several spaceflight projects, including deep space exploration and Earth's atmospheric research. He was later appointed chief of flight electronics; then director of all atmospheric and space sciences programs at LaRC. Len received several NASA awards, including the exceptional service, and outstanding leadership medals. He is the author or co-author of over 50 publications.
Since his retirement from NASA in 2004 he has served as the program deputy of a spaceflight program at Hampton University. Since moving to West Virginia he has served on the Hampshire County Development Authority, and is working with the Capon Bridge Ruritans in the development of the new Capon Bridge Community Center. His hobbies include postal history and he has published a brief history of the post offices in Hampshire County.

Julie and husband Drew moved from Frederick County, Maryland to Capon Bridge almost 5 years ago and love the close-knit community. She really enjoys being part of the Ruritan Club as well as the Founder's Day Committee. In doing so, I have met many wonderful people and made some new friends. I enjoy having the time to spend with my family and friends and in my spare time I keep busy with quilting, stained glass, jewelry making and gardening.

Angela is a financial analyst by trade and is currently working at the FEMA Finance Center. Angela has served in the capacity of Advertising and Marketing coordinator since 2009.

Steve is a retired teacher turned gentleman farmer (forage and beef). Born in Clarksburg, WV in 1953, raised just outside D.C. he has lived in North River Mills since 1976 with his wife, Terry Lynn Ryan Bailes. They have two grown daughters. Steph and husband Josh live in Concord, NC. Heather and husband Sam live in Chicopee, MA. They each have a boy and girl, and Steve and Terry enjoy their grandparent time.
Steve studied at WVU and received a BA in elementary education and an MS in reading instruction. Steve is an admitted bookophile. He enjoys biking and canoeing. Steve enjoys playing different genres of music, especially folk and classic rock. He has been impressed with the depth and proficiency of local music talent. He hopes the audience agrees and enjoys the layout of musicians at this year's Founders Day.

Susan has been on the Founders Day Committee since 2008. She currently serves as the Chili Cook-Off coordinator. Susan was a huge advocate of the chili cook contest, believing that “If you build it – they will come”. The chili cook off contest has remained a favorite of all in attendance of the festival each year. Susan currently works for The Bank of Romney as a Loan Development Officer. Susan has lived in Capon Bridge most of her life. She has 2 children, Joshua and Hanna. Joshua currently lives in Martinsburg, WV and Hanna will be a freshman at West Virginia University this fall.

Steve has resided in Capon Bridge for 10 years and has been apart of the festival for 3 years. Since the first year of the festival Steve has been involved in the set up of the festival grounds. Last year Steve took on additional responsibility of co-coordinating the Sports & Outdoor events to include the Daisy BB and Archery Shoots. This year Steve serves as the Grounds Coordinator and will again operate the Daisy BB and Archery shoots.

Jack was born July 24, 1946 Batesville, Indiana. Jack was raised in southern Indiana and northern Kentucky. He graduated from Lawrenceburg High School in 1964 having studied Business in High School. Planned to pursue college and become a CPA
Jack received a draft notice during the Vietnam War era and joined the US Navy in 1964. He attended 2 years of Navy Nuclear Power Class room Training before being assigned to the Navy’s Nuclear Powered Submarine Force. He served onboard the USS Sam Houston, SSBN 609 and the USS Haddo, SSN 604 and was discharged in June, 1973
Jack married Janice Coffinger from Schuylerville, New York on October 1, 1966. They have 3 grown children, son Darren and twin daughters Deborah and Denise, 5 grandchildren, and 1 great grand daughter. He worked from 1973 to 1999 at Three Mile Island Nuclear Generating Station near Harrisburg, PA In a variety of positions from plant operator to several management positions. From 1999 – 2003 worked as an industry consultant and contractor. During this period served as Vice President with J. Davis Consultants, Inc. Jack and Janice moved to Capon Bridge in 2002. He joined Capon Bridge Ruritan Club in 2004. Served as Club President and was Club Ruritan of the Year in 2006 and 2008 and was Upper West Virginia District 19 Ruritan of the Year in 2008. Jack helped start the annual Capon Bridge Founders Day Festival in 2008. He served as Festival Director from 2008 – 2010. He continues to participate with the festival as area coordinator. Currently serving as the President of the Capon Bridge Revitalization Group, Inc. a community organization focused on improving the local community and surrounding area.

Janice was born February 16, 1944 in Northumberland, New York. She grew up in that area as a country farm girl with 6 brothers and sisters. Janice graduated high school in 1962. In 1966, she met and married husband Jack. Jack was in the Navy at the time and they spent the next 6 years living the military lifestyle. She is the mother of three grown children and 5 grand children and 1 great grand daughter. Janice retired from Sears in 1992. She is a past member of the Capon Bridge Ruritan Club. Don has been married to Guelda for fifty-one years. They have four children, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is a member of the Capon Bridge United Methodist Church, Capon Bridge Ruritan, and Founders Day Festival. He graduated from Capon Bridge High School in 1958. Don was an Over the Road Truck Driver for 20 plus years and retired from the Town of
Capon Bridge as a Certified Water and Sewer Operator.
He has been Treasurer of the Capon Bridge Ruritan for many years and has held all other offices over the years. He has forty- nine years perfect attendance in Ruritan, have been honored with Ruritan of the Year, and in 2010 he was awarded the Tom Downing Fellow award from Ruritan National. This is the highest and most prestigious award that you can receive in Ruritan.
He has been a member of the Capon Bridge Founders Day since the planning stages the first year. This year he is a member of the Grounds Committee.Brenda Myers

Married for 51 years to my husband Don, we have 4 children, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. I worked for the Town of Capon Bridge as Office Manager retiring in 2004. I am a member of the Capon Bridge United Methodist Church, Capon Bridge Ruritan, Founders Day Committee and was a member of CEOS and the United Methodist Women for many years.
I was an active Ruritan wife for 32 years, am now a member of Capon Bridge Ruritan with 17 years perfect attendance. Have served as Secretary and President. Was honored as Ruritan of the Year for the club in 2010. Served on the District Cabinet for several years, was the first woman to serve as District Governor of the Upper West Virginia District. I served as Lt. Gov.in 2000 and District Gov. in 2001. A great honor and a wonderful experience for me.
I have been involved with Founders Day since the planning stages the first year. Am serving this year as secretary of the committee and chairperson of the silent auction.
